Everything we know as timeline named for potential Joe Gelhardt Leeds exit
Hull City still retain an interest in signing Joe Gelhardt from Leeds United this summer.
The verstaile forward fired 15 Championsip goals last season to help the Tigers return to the Premier League.
With the 24-year-old's contract set to expire in 12 months, there is a growing feeling that Leeds will look to sell this summer.
Gelhardt was signed as a prodigious teenager from Wigan Athletic back in 2020, but he has never reached his full potential in a Leeds shirt.
A move would certainly make sense for both parties, and Gelhardt is also thought to be being tracked by Scottish Premiership giants Rangers.
But Hull are still in the hunt to take him to the MKM Stadium full time, and more details have emerged on when they could pounce.
Hull City show patience in Joe Gelhardt transfer
It would be little surprise to any Whites supporter to see Gelhardt head for the exit door full time at Elland Road this season.
Indeed, right now it feels emphatically more a question of when as opposed to if he leaves.
According to HullLive correspondent Barry Cooper, a permanent move to the Tigers in the coming weeks cannot be ruled out.
He added that a deal must be found between the two clubs, though that has yet to happen just yet.
Cooper reports that a deal was unlikely to ever happy in the early weeks of the transfer window, but Gelhardt is keen to make the move permanent.
Leeds United's loan returns dilemma
The situation with Gelhardt is actually a dilemma that Daniel Farke is facing with several players over the summer.
Largie Ramazani, Jack Harrison, Maximilian Wober, and Isaac Schmidt have all reached the end of loan spells away from LS11.
It is difficult to imagine that any of that quartet or Gelhardt have a place in Farke's plans for the coming season.
So, Leeds have to find new homes - either temporary or permanent - for those players, and doing so may be impacting their potential to bring new faces through the door.
We are, though, still quite in the infancy of the transfer window, and several clubs are seeing their business slowed down by the ongoing World Cup.
Once the tournament is over, there is every chance that business in England and across the continent speeds up somewhat.
