Leeds United youngster Callum Mills has committed his future to the club.

The academy midfielder, who is 17 years old, has signed his first professional contract with the Elland Road club.

The Whites announced that Mills had penned a deal to keep him in Yorkshire on Thursday.

He is an exciting prospect, capable of playing in the centre or on the flanks for the Peacocks.

Daniel Farke will surely be keeping a close eye on his development in the coming years.

Here, MOT Leeds News rounds up everything you need to know about Mills after he signed his first senior contract.

How long is Callum Mills' first professional contract at Leeds?

The LS11 outfit have confirmed that Mills has penned a two-year contract.

That will keep him at Thorp Arch until 2028 at the earliest, and if he continues at his current rate, he will surely earn another extension.

Mills is the first to earn a pro deal this summer, but a report from Leeds Live claimed it is the first of many that are expected to be handed out.

That appears to be the case, as Loui Whitehead has now joined Mills in signing new terms.

Who is Leeds academy star Callum Mills?

Mills signed as a scholar at the age of 16 for the 2025 intake, alongside the likes of Harry Gray and Kenneth Mensah.

He featured 38 times for the Whites' Under-18 side, with eight goals and six assists.

He made 37 appearances last season, including 14 for Scott Gardner's Under-21 side after breaking into that level.

The young talent notched five goals in that time, showing why he is rated very highly by the staff.

What has Mills said about Leeds contract?

Mills has shown gratitude to the Peacocks for their faith in him and believes that he is becoming more confident.

Speaking to the club's official website after the announcement, he said: “I just feel very grateful to be given the opportunity, I am very proud to represent the club and I am glad to continue my journey here.

“I got welcomed in straight away. It was a welcoming club and has been as I have progressed through the age groups ever since joining.

“I feel like I have just got a whole new level of confidence in myself. Training-wise, I feel like I have shown my ability.

“That has taken over to the pitch as well. I am feeling more confident in showing what I can actually do on the pitch.

“I feel like I am quite a creative player. I don’t like playing simple all the time but I just do what I think is right on the pitch.

“I would just like to thank my family who have been with me the entire journey and the coaches who have helped me progress my game a lot.”

That is exactly what supporters and Farke will want to hear, that the player is starting to believe in himself.

That mentality could take him to the very top, if he can maintain his as he rises through the levels.

It could be a matter of time before we see him in and around the first-team in Yorkshire.
