Emmanuel Latte Lath bid ready at Elland Road in Leeds United transfer update
Leeds United are considering a bid to sign Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath in the winter transfer window, according to Leeds United News.
It was reported on 7 January that amid interest from Ipswich Town, Leicester City and West Ham in the Ivorian, the Whites are now lining up an approach of their own for Boro’s number nine.
Both Daniel Farke and the 49ers Enterprises are keen on the 26-year-old, who has netted 10 goals in 26 Championship matches this term and is well on the way to beating the 16 he scored last season.
Joel Piroe has also struck 10 times this term, but with the currently injured Patrick Bamford linked with the exit door and Joe Gelhardt heading towards it, Farke is looking to bolster his depth of strikers in LS11.
Emmanuel Latte Lath transfer can be huge Leeds United statement
Adding the Championship’s third-highest scorer to the side which has already netted the most goals in the division is a tantalising prospect, but that’s exactly what the Whites could have if Latte Lath arrives.
Having signed for Boro at a fee of £4.2million from Atalanta last summer, Latte Lath’s signature would likely set United back a much greater fee if they were to pluck him from the Riverside this month.

Like Farke’s side, Boro are firmly in the hunt for Premier League promotion this season, sitting fifth in the table and 11 points off the top two with Latte Lath the focal point of their attack under Michael Carrick.
Carrick certainly won’t be letting Latte Lath leave without a fight regardless of the fee offered by the 49ers, as he’ll know that adding the Ivorian to the mix could guarantee promotion at Elland Road.
Plenty of attention has been given to United’s activity at the back this month given Illan Meslier’s recent displays, but putting Latte Lath into an already well-stocked frontline could well be the difference-maker.
In other Leeds news, Elland Road sources have called selling one of the club’s star players last summer a “blessing in disguise”.
