Leeds United: Elia Caprile spends first day in Bari as he undergoes medical
Leeds United goalkeeper Elia Caprile has had his “first day” in Bari as he edges closer to signing for the Serie B club, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper reported on Wednesday (29 June, page 25) that Caprile, 20, has undergone a medical at the Sports Medicine Centre in Bitonto, a small city just outside Bari, ahead of leaving Leeds on a permanent basis.
It is understood that a three-year deal is ready for the Italian shot-stopper to sign and finalise his move away from Elland Road.
Almost done
We’re surprised that this deal hasn’t already been announced.
On Tuesday (28 June), Sky Sports Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio shared an image of Caprile as he had his medical with Bari.

With the medical done with seemingly no issues and Caprile set to sign a three-year deal, we’re not sure what the hold up is unless Bari are, for some reason, waiting until 1 July to rubber-stamp everything.
It’s not that it matters, anyway.
Caprile was a fringe player at Leeds and was the third-choice goalkeeper before he left last summer to join Pro Patria on loan in Italy’s Serie C.
Bari were promoted from Serie C last term and are now back in Serie B.
Bari are one of the most well-supported clubs in Italy and boast one of the nation’s biggest football stadiums.
They have spent a lot of time in Serie A and they’ll no doubt be trying to make it make to Italy’s top-flight over the coming years now they’re back in the second-tier.
We wish Caprile all the best at his new club as they aim to do this.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are working on a quickfire signing to replace Raphinha with talks underway.
