Eintracht Frankfurt are keen to renegotiate the buy option included in Rasmus Kristensen's loan move from Leeds United, according to Fussball News.

The German outlet reported on its website on Monday (23 September) that the German club would like to lower the £10.8million [€13million] purchase option included in his temporary move away from Elland Road.

Kristensen's current contract with Daniel Farke's side only runs until the end of the 2025/26 season and because of that Frankfurt would be keen to lower the permanent fee slightly after an impressive start in the Bundesliga.

Has Rasmus Kristensen exited Leeds United permanently after Frankfurt transfer?

It is clear that Kristensen is not part of Leeds United's long-term plans at Elland Road and the majority of supporters would be keen to see him off of their books permanently sooner rather than later.

Even when Farke had barely any depth at fullback this season, the Danish international remained out of the picture with both Jayden Bogle and Isaac Schmidt arriving in Yorkshire to provide some more defensive depth.

Kristensen's successful start to life in the Bundesliga should only be a good thing for Leeds however. If the defender continues to flourish away from Elland Road, Frankfurt are much more likely to pay the fee needed to make his stay permanent.

Leeds originally paid around £10million for the 27-year-old way back in 2022 [Sky Sports] so they will likely be keen to keep the permanent option in and around the £10.8million mark included in the original agreement signed this summer.

Even if the Whites have to take a slight financial hit, they would likely be willing to move that fee down slightly if it allowed them to get Kristensen's wages off of the books this summer.

This could well be one to watch over the coming months. It is unlikely that any agreement will be reached when his loan spell has so much time left to run.
