Darwin Nunez puts on show for Leeds scouts on Wednesday

Leeds United scouts were present as Benfica smashed Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

Sky Sports journalist Melissa Ruddy shared the scouting list with the Whites joined by some of Europe’s biggest clubs including Bayern Munich.

Ruddy later shared that it was Darwin Nunez who caught the eye, scoring twice in the huge 3-0 victory at the Estadio Da Luz.

Writing on her personal Twitter account, Reddy shared the one player that was left putting on a show.

“Leeds, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are amongst a lengthy list of clubs to have scouts in attendance at Estádio da Luz tonight,” he said.

“Darwin Núñez is putting on quite a show for the scouts in attendance.”

Nunez was the entire package last night.

Looking at Leeds’ squad, the two areas that likely need strengthening the most are in the final third and in midfield.

Even if Victor Orta’s team were watching for someone in midfield, they would have had their attention stripped away by the Uruguayan as he single-handily destroyed Barcelona.

Patrick Bamford’s recent injury has opened up a problem at Elland Road, with Rodrigo moving forward into that role.

When both are fit, the Spaniard drops into the number 10 role, so having another striker in the squad would be perfect.

Nunez likely added some more millions onto his pricetag last night, and any more in January or the summer will take a huge chunk of money.
