Daniel Farke makes admission about Mykhailo Mudryk as Leeds submit offer

Leeds United continue to be linked with a loan move for Chelsea ace Mykhailo Mudryk.

The Ukraine winger is back in action after winning an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport against a ban for adverse analytical finding a drugs test.

With his minutes at the Blues likely to be limited in the short term, there is a growing possibility Mudryk will spend a spell away from Stamford Bridge.

There is sure to be plenty of interest in the 25-year-old, who was once one of the most sought-after players in world football.

Leeds have been chief among the clubs linked with a move for the former Shakhtar Donetsk attacker.

And Leeds boss Daniel Farke made one admission about Mudryk when addressing questions about the Whites' interest.

It has been reported that Chelsea have already rejected a loan bid from Leeds for Mudryk.

Morever, it was later said that Chelsea no longer consider Leeds to be in the race for his signature.

However, Ben Jacobs later said that there were two conditions for Leeds to revive the deal - namely increasing their terms, and pitching "significant" minutes for Mudryk.

Farke was asked by the media about Leeds' interest when speaking at a news conference ahead of the EFL Cup tie with Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.

Adam Pope reported on X that the German admitted that Mudryk is a "fine player". but was reluctant to delve too much into Leeds' reported interest.

However, in further quotes reported by LeedsLive, Farke was reluctant to be drawn on the speculation, saying: "Always many noises around Leeds.

"I get the feeling every agent tries to use our name to speak about his player because Leeds are a well-known club. 

"Sometimes it's players I've not heard about - of course I've heard of Mudryk.

"I won't comment about other clubs' players and no comment on speculation. To the last second we stay awake. We work with limited resources.

"I'm pretty happy with our business so far. We want to make sure the finances are in the right place and not gamble. We are ambitious but also makes sense financially."

What's next for Leeds United in Mudryk pursuit?

Leeds now have to decide what their next play it comes to Mudryk.

Farke is not really pulling the wool over anyone's eyes with this one, it is clear Leeds have an interest and would love to bring Mudryk to Elland Road.

They will have to convince Chelsea that Mudryk will get plenty of game time at Elland Road if they are to sanction to a loan move there.

Mudryk himself is said to be keen on the switch, and prefers staying in the Premier League with Leeds.

But there are a lot of moving parts still to resolve here, so this one is far from a formality for Leeds.
