Daniel Farke admits Leeds transfer restrictions as August approaches
Leeds United boss Daniel Farke admits the club’s hands are “more tied” than others on recruitment, but is confident of improving the squad.
The Whites have so far brought four players to Elland Road in the shape of Joe Rodon, Jayden Bogle, Alex Cairns and a loan for Joe Rothwell.
Further new arrivals are certainly on the agenda, with Farke believing the market will pick up pace as ever towards the end of the window with minor changes needed rather than a huge squad overhaul.
Speaking to Graham Smyth of the Yorkshire Evening Post, the German said: “If you are working with anxiety in this business then you are in the wrong position.
“Perhaps our hands are even a bit more tied than other clubs but for that we need to be there with some smart decisions and overall no anxiety.
“I get the feeling there are lots of players who want to play for this Leeds shirt.”
Should Leeds United be concerned?
Whilst Leeds United may not yet be at the point in the transfer window where they want to be, the signings the club have made have been astute.
However, it goes without saying and Farke knows that there are positions – namely in central midfield and at full-back – that need to be bolstered.
Not only that, but the potential big-money sales of talismanic figures in the squad such as Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter could leave voids in the squad at the wrong time.

Archie Gray’s sale was emotionally tricky but had eased Leeds’ financial burden a lot when it came to balancing the accounts, not to mention the avenue which opened to secure reliable defender Rodon on a permanent deal.
Expect several more to come through the door in West Yorkshire which could possibly include some high-profile names, if Farke’s confidence is to be backed up on the club’s pull factor despite failure to reach the Premier League last season.
In other Leeds news, Ilia Gruev was still spotted in Germany after the end of the club’s pre-season tour.
