Summerville to undergo second part of Leeds United exit medical – Dharmesh Sheth

Crysencio Summerville is to undergo the second part of his West Ham medical on Friday morning (2 August) ahead of completing his Leeds United exit, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports journalist reported via the broadcaster’s live transfer blog (2 August, 7:30) that West Ham hope to wrap up a deal “soon after” the medical is passed.

Sheth reiterated that a deal is already in place between the two clubs for a fee in the region of £25million plus various add-ons.

Crysencio Summerville’s Leeds United exit all but sealed

With a fee said to be in place between Leeds and West Ham – albeit that has since been disputed by Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenburg – this transfer is now in its latter stages.

West Ham are getting themselves a bargain signing, even if the fee does rise by another £10million or so if various clauses or triggered.

It is extremely rare for a medical to be failed, and that is surely unlikely to happen in this instance, although Summerville is currently carrying an injury.

Leeds must now turn focus to bringing in another attacker, which does thankfully appear to be the case according to various reports.

Summerville’s exit has seemed inevitable from the moment the full-time whistle sounded at Wembley a few months back.

Archie Gray may have gone for big money, but the predators have been circling and Leeds are unfortunately not at the top of the food chain at this point.

All supporters can hope for now is that the deal is concluded swiftly and the money is reinvested on a couple of others players.
