Crysencio Summerville transfer to have big implications in Leeds United update

Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville could set off a chain reaction of transfers between the Premier League clubs he is linked with this summer, according to Leeds Live.

After a sensational season at Elland Road, racking up 30 goals and assists (in all competitions) to earn the Championship Player of the Year award, Summerville is being chased by several top-flight sides after the Whites missed out on promotion back to the Premier League.

It is suggested that with Summerville seeming all but certain to depart this summer, his destination will play a huge factor in the transfer merry-go-round set to unfold in the transfer window [Fabrizio Romano].

Liverpool and Chelsea are in the race for the Dutchman, affecting their pursuits of Crystal Palace duo Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze. But, if either moves to Anfield, Stamford Bridge, Newcastle or Manchester United first, Palace are expected to heighten attempts to sign Summerville themselves.

Being billed as the best player in the Championship, and earning the award to back up that statement, is often a key indicator that a player is ready to make the step up to Premier League level again.

Few fit that billing more than Summerville based on the last 12 months, and unlike the Whites, after they lost to Southampton in the play-off final, the 22-year-old could seal an immediate return to the top-flight.

Of the clubs he is linked with, Palace appears to be the best bet for Summerville; the destination where he’d get a much better guarantee of regular game-time as opposed to Liverpool and Chelsea [Fabrizio Romano].

The respective rises of Olise and Eze – and the pair’s explosion onto the international stage in recent months – set an exciting standard for Summerville to reach if he makes the move to Selhurst Park.

The Eagles are desperate to keep hold of Olise and Eze – as are Leeds likely with Summerville – but whichever player makes the first move could be the first domino to fall in a host of big-money transfers.
