Crysencio Summerville compared to Lamine Yamal amid during Leeds United exit tal

Leeds United forward Crysencio Summerville was compared to Spanish starlet Lamine Yamal by his former ADO Den Haag manager Alan Pardew.

Speaking on talkSPORT (18 June, 8:51am), Pardew said that the winger is ready to establish himself as a Premier League player and that, like Yamal, his playing style suggests that he’s “never feared anybody”.

Pardew was responding to Alex Crook’s report that both Liverpool and Brighton are interested in signing the 22-year-old after Leeds’ failure to secure promotion back to the Premier League [talkSPORT].

He said: “I had him at ADO Den Haag, we took him on loan at only 16 or 17, and we worked hard to try and get him to understand what men’s football really was at such a young age.

“But a bit like Yamal at Barcelona, he was a duck to water, he never feared anybody and he’s brought that to Leeds.

“He’s definitely a Premier League player, for sure, but compared to Liverpool, I can see why Brighton might be a better move for him.”

Will Crysencio Summerville be a success in the Premier League?

It’s looking increasingly likely that Summerville has played his last game in the white shirt, although he didn’t exactly shine against Southampton in Leeds’ Championship play-off final loss.

Having already won the league’s Player of the Year award by that point, though, top-flight clubs are well aware of the Dutchman’s talents, making it difficult for the Whites to keep hold of their prize asset this summer [Fabrizio Romano].

Crysencio Summerville is now wanted by Fulham and West Ham

While Crook reported that Leeds will demand a fee north of £30million, Premier League clubs like Brighton and Liverpool will hope a bidding war for his services starts well below that amount [LeedsLive].

Summerville’s four goals in consecutive games in the Premier League the previous season, coming just before the break for the 2022 World Cup, alerted other clubs to just how clinical the 22-year-old can be in a front-foot side.

Adding him to the attacking arsenals of Liverpool or Brighton would improve both sides’ chances of strong campaigns next season, putting the onus is on Leeds and Summerville to make sure that if he does make a move, it’s the best one for both parties [Fabrizio Romano].
