Leeds United are interested in Bosnian defender Tarik Muharemovic.

The Whites are plotting improvements as they aim for further progress in the Premier League, a year on from promotion.

Daniel Farke's side finished 14th last season, after a string of strong results sealed survival at a relative canter at the back end.

The transfer window so far has been a bit of a slow burner, with Harry Wilson the only to arrive.

But, things are hotting up, with the interest in Muharemovic following the pursuits of Shea Charles and Julian Brandt.

And with the 23-year-old defender in mind, Leeds may have just been given a reminder to rekindle their interest in VfB Stuttgart forward, Ermedin Demirovic.

How long have Leeds been interested in Ermedin Demirovic?

The Bosnian striker is an international teammate of Muharemovic, and is a long-standing Leeds target.

After their promotion last year, the Whites were interested in doing a deal for the forward, with Kicker first reporting the information.

Instead, he would remain at Stuttgart, where he scored 12 Bundesliga goals and registered three assists.

This would be repeated once again at the end of the season.

In May, Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport described the Whites as "strongly interested," suggesting that they sat ahead of Lazio and Roma in the the race.

VfB were said to have wanted around £35million last summer, with this down to £25m now as per the reports from Italy.

With one Bosnian potentially moving to Elland Road in Muharemovic, Leeds may now have a reason to go all out for Demirovic, who would bring both goals and experience.

What sort of striker is Demirovic and why would he benefit Leeds target?

Stylistically, the Bosnian is not the most technically-gifted, nor the most aesthetically pleasing forward in the world.

But what he is, is an absolute menace in the box.

Similarly to Dominic Calvert-Lewin up top for Leeds, he is a presence, and is in the right place at the right time on an incredibly consistent basis.

He would make just 25 Bundesliga appearances due to the form of Deniz Undav and a series of injuries, but his goal record of 15 across all competitions speaks for itself.

In the last three seasons, Demirovic has scored 48 times and registered 21 assists, and is still just a backup at the Neckarstadion - a testament to Undav's quality.

On top of this, he is a magnificent character with bags of experience, who has held the armband at both Stuttgart and Augsburg.

Potentially following in the footsteps of compatriot Muharemovic, Demirovic could prove vital in helping the young defender settle in, and become the player he is tipped to be.

As well, he would be another experienced figure in the prime of his career, in a Leeds squad full of similar characters.
