Conrad Harder twist revealed at Leeds United already after transfer approach

Conrad Harder has emerged out of nowhere to become the name on every Leeds United fans' lips.

Daniel Farke clearly wants another striker at Elland Road before 1 September, but links have been quiet.

That was until Tuesday, when Harder become a clear target, mentioned throughout Europe with the Whites.

Leeds are said to have made an approach to sign Harder, who plays for sister club, RB Leipzig in Germany.

While not prolific, a move could make sense with the pecking order in LS11, currently.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the undisputed number nine, with Lukas Nmecha behind, so a younger profile is perfect.

Leeds United make striker search even harder

Despite not being a huge name, Harder appeared to tick many boxes for fans in West Yorkshire.

But, it may not happen at all now.

Tom Coates has reported that Leeds are not set to take their initial interest further in the market.

The Yorkshire Post journalist did share that an initial approach and check was made on the Danish striker, but nothing more yet.

So, who could they actually be chasing?

Strikers that Leeds United could sign

It's not been a great couple of days on that front for Farke and the 49ers Enterprises.

Liam Delap was another mentioned target, yet the Chelsea striker now looks set to join Nottingham Forest.

Leeds beat Forest 1-0 on the opening day of the Premier League, and could repeat that trick in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday against the same opposition.

But, it's Oliver Glasner and the Reds who appear to have won that transfer race.

With four transfers wanted in total and only one week left to go, Leeds can't afford to waste time on strikers.

Given their interest in both Harder and Delap without rewards, it appears that this hunt is going down to the very wire.

Joel Piroe has now left, so Leeds don't even have a third-choice striker in their squad now, which is somewhat of a risk.

Nmecha and Calvert-Lewin have suffered hard with injuries in their careers, and although last season was positive, it's always in the back of your mind.

Leeds know that, though, and they've done more than enough to earn our trust in the transfer market, especially this year.
