Bryce Hosannah on verge of Leeds United exit
Leeds United defender Bryce Hosannah is on the brinks of an Elland Road exit as he nears a move to Wrexham, according to Thomas Feaheny.
The freelance journalist, who has worked for talkSPORT and the Yorkshire Evening Post among others, made the claim via his personal Twitter profile on Tuesday afternoon.
“Defender Bryce Hosannah is close to joining Wrexham from Leeds United,” he wrote.
Wrexham are currently plying their trade in the National League but they were taken over by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in 2020 with big plans for the future ahead.
The American duo have made clear their plans to restore Wrexham into the Football League and drag them forwards after years in non-league wilderness.
That’s why, despite the move appearing to be a big step down from a Premier League giants in Leeds to a club four steps below, this may actually be a good career move for Hosannah.
He has not played for Leeds yet and played 11 times at League Two Bradford City last term, but injury put paid to him making any further outings.
His pathway at Elland Road looks blocked with Luke Ayling and Cody Drameh, among others, ahead of him in the right-back pecking order.
It’s a case of taking four steps back for Hosannah, but sometimes that’s necessary in order to progress as a player in professional football.
The Lambeth-born defender joined the Whites from Crystal Palace in 2017 but it appears his four-year spell in West Yorkshire is drawing to a clsoe.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are set for a deadline-day dash as Bielsa greenlights exit-bound int’l star signing.
