Brenden Aaronson is one of six Leeds United players who are out of contract at the end of the new season.

The American midfielder has forged a key role under Daniel Farke in the Premier League, with four goals and five assists last season.

However, his deal is set to expire when the upcoming campaign finishes, so it is paramount that they agree fresh terms.

Illan Meslier left Leeds at the end of his deal, and there are still questions over Karl Darlow, Sam Byram and Alex Cairns' futures.

However, attention will soon turn to those who have just one-year left on their contracts, like the 25-year-old.

MOT Leeds News examines the situation and who may earn new deals with the Whites.

Leeds first-team stars could be set for Elland Road exit

Alongside Aaronson, two other regulars in the Peacocks side could find themselves looking for new clubs.

Ilia Gruev was utilised extensively by Farke in the engine room, but his deal is currently set to expire in the summer of 2027.

Lukas Nmecha was a valuable asset but he could also be on the way out, as no talks have started over a new contract.

Of course, there is plenty of time for things to change, but that is the situation right now.

Surely something will be done to keep the trio in the squad for the long-term.

Leeds outcasts to finally head out of Thorp Arch doors

As it stands, three Whites outcasts are set to see their deals expire at the end of next season.

Joel Piroe is still on their books, despite playing just 21 times in all competitions.

He was deemed not good enough to make a significant impact in the top-flight after being the Championship top goalscorer in the 2024-25 season.

Joe Gelhardt spent the last campaign on loan with Hull and there seems to be no plans to involve him in the first-team at Thorp Arch.

Finally, Max Wober whose last Whites appearance came in May 2025, is set to return after his dismal loan spell with Werder Bremen.

He featured just four times for the Bundesliga side after an injury-hit campaign, and surely has no future in LS11.

Those outcasts could leave in the transfer window, if sufficient offers are received but as it stands they will depart when their deals are finished.
