Ben Jacobs: Deco to turn to Chelsea next week if Leeds United and Barcelona fail on Raphinha agreement
Raphinha’s agent Deco will turn his attention back to Chelsea next week with Leeds United growing frustrated with Barcelona according to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs.
The CBS journalist revealed (via Twitter) on 10 July that there is an “expectation” that Barcelona’s board will approve Ousmane Dembele’s new two-year contract with the France international taking a 40% pay cut.
However, it remains to be seen how this will affect the Raphinha deal with the Catalans potentially not in a position to sign the Brazilian.
As reported by The Guardian’s Fabrizio Romano (via CaughtOffside) on Sunday 10 July, Leeds have rejected Barcelona’s latest offer for the winger.
It now appears that Deco is growing frustrated with the Spanish Giants, with Jacobs suggesting that Raphinha’s agent will re-enter talks with Chelsea next week if a solution cannot be found.

What is set in stone is that this transfer saga needs to come to a conclusion in the coming days.
We all know Raphinha has his heart set on Barcelona, but ultimately, Leeds need to stay far away from any negotiations that take place with the Spanish club.
It is likely that any deal will be paid in instalments and not for a considerable amount of time.
If Leeds lose their best player, they need to be able to replace him now in order to be competitive in the 2022/23 season.
Ultimately Leeds are in a good position when it comes to the deal, with the Whites already agreeing a £60million fee with Chelsea.
Barcelona know that Leeds are losing patience and won’t accept anything less than what Thomas Tuchel’s side have offered for Raphinha.
Regardless of Raphinha’a wishes, the club have to protect themselves in this situation and doing business with Barcelona at present is certainly risky.
The Whites should end negotiations with the Spanish club soon.
In other Leeds United news, this £40,000-a-week Leeds player is being hidden from pre-season footage as the club gets ready to get rid of him.
