Aston Villa close to Louie Barry decision amid Leeds United interest
Leeds United are set to miss out on the loan signing of Louie Barry from Aston Villa to Hull City, according to LeedsLive.
The news outlet reported (8 January) that Hull are increasingly confident that they will be the side to gain the 21-year-old’s services for the remainder of the season despite interest from top Championship sides including Leeds, Sunderland and Sheffield United.
Aston Villa are said to be “significantly closer” to making a final decision on the future of their young player with the two clubs having a good working relationship.
Leeds United set to miss out on Louie Barry
Barry is said to be edging closer to a move to East Yorkshire instead of West Yorkshire as this is a move that would provide him more guaranteed minutes, which is the main aim of his loan spell away from Villa Park.
The winger has spent the first half of the season with Stockport County on loan and was a mainstay in the League One side, where he chipped in with 15 goals from 23 games.
Therefore, it’s understandable that his parent club are eager to see him carry on developing his form and push himself at the next level rather than sit on the bench.

With this in mind, Daniel Farke would accept that with his side at the top of the Championship, he certainly has the existing talent in his wide areas and although he will be eager to boost his attacking options, a player that is yet to have played in the second tier would be lucky to walk straight into a starting line-up that high in the league.
Nevertheless, based on what the 21-year-old has shown so far it would not be a surprise to see him go and have an instant impact at Hull and the Whites could well be wishing they had a player of his quality by the end of the campaign.
In other Leeds United news, this player has surely played his final game at Elland Road.
