Anton Stach to join Leeds United squad in Germany in transfer latest

Leeds look set to complete the signing of Hoffenheim midfielder Anton Stach.

The midfield giant will add another body to the engine room after they secured the signature of Sean Longstaff earlier this week.

The Whites are well stocked in the middle of the park for their return to the Premier League with the two new additions and Ao Tanaka, Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev.

However, the German stands out due to his imposing stature and his ability in the air, something which the group lacked.

Stach set to link up with Leeds squad imminently

Leeds are set to finalise the transfer of Stach, and their pre-season plans for the 26-year-old have been revealed.

Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg (21 July) shares that Stach is set to link up with the squad in Germany for their training camp.

He states that the midfielder is undergoing his medical with a £17.3million deal agreed upon with the Bundesliga outfit.

Leeds priorities must be addressed amid Stach latest

The signature of Stach gives Daniel Farke a multitude of options to choose from in the position, but other areas must be addressed now.

The Peacocks are in desperate need of a goalkeeper. Illan Meslier was dropped after nearly costing them Championship promotion, and Karl Darlow is not the required top-flight quality.

They are yet to make progress on a new stopper, which is a worrying sign given that the new season starts in 25 days.

The Elland Road outfit also needs a new striker, with doubts about second-tier top scorer Joel Piroe’s ability to cut it at the elite level.

Patrick Bamford has been told that he is not in Farke’s plans, and Mateo Joseph is also attracting interest from elsewhere, so they need to bring a new attacker to LS11.

They cannot afford to leave themselves short in the most important position on the pitch, with only Piroe and Lukas Nmecha able to play there at the moment.

Names like Nikola Krstovic and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have been mentioned as potential additions, but it remains to be seen who comes in to fill the void.
