Aaron Ramsdale could be secret preference as Leeds United transfer push expected
Aaron Ramsdale could be the goalkeeper Daniel Farke hinted at signing for Leeds United back in January.
The Whites will have some big weeks ahead of them with their goalkeeper department, as talks with Karl Darlow over a new deal are ongoing.
Manchester United are keen on signing the 35-year-old to act as a second-choice keeper to Senne Lammens, while Tottenham have also expressed their interest.
Leeds are also in discussions with Alex Cairns over new terms, as the case of Lucas Perri remains a frustrating one.
The Whites are hopeful that Darlow puts pen to paper over a new deal at Elland Road, after surprising everyone last season, emerging as the first-choice keeper.
However, even if he doesn't, Leeds look likely to sign a new shot-stopper, as they could rekindle their interest in Ramsdale.
Leeds 'expected' to search goalkeeper market this summer
Though Darlow was immense last season, he was never thought of as the number one goalkeeper after the Whites signed Perri for over £15million.
The Brazilian was poor after arriving in LS11, and therefore Darlow was given a chance, and took it with both hands - literally.
Man United have also been impressed with the Englishman's performances, but Leeds remain in talks with him over staying at the club.
According to The Mirror on Wednesday, Leeds are "expected" to dip into the goalkeeper market this summer, a key area which could cause a transfer domino effect at Elland Road.
Farke hinted that he had some specific in mind as a new goalkeeper signing when speaking in an interview back in January, and that man could be Ramsdale.
Southampton want to sell Aaron Ramsdale
Southampton are looking to sell several big-name players this summer in order to balance the booms at Saint Mary's.
Ramsdale is one player who is on the transfer list, as he returned back to his parent club following a loan spell with Newcastle.
The former England international has been linked with a move to Leeds over the past 12 months and beyond, and this summer could be the market when the Whites make their move.
Farke has one player in mind, and that could be Ramsdale.
