'100%', 'Buy him' - Many Leeds fans want club to sign one Newcastle player based on last night
Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to share their belief that the club should sign Allan Saint-Maximin from Newcastle if the Magpies are relegated.
Last night (Tuesday), Saint-Maximin came off the bench for Newcastle and impressed despite Steve Bruce’s side losing 2-1 to the Whites at St James’ Park.
According to stats by WhoScored, the French winger came off the bench and attempted four dribbles against Leeds, completing four of them.
No Leeds player managed to complete more dribbles than Saint-Maximin throughout the entire game while the Newcastle attacker also completed 100 per cent of his passes and completed one key pass for the home side.
Although the Whites looked a class above the Magpies in the North-East, the final result was only a narrow win for Marcelo Bielsa’s men and you would imagine that if Saint-Maximin started, it could have been a different scoreline.
Newcastle are hurtling towards the Premier League’s relegation zone and Leeds fans are now saying they would like to see Bielsa and Victor Orta eye up a deal for Saint-Maximin if the Tyneside club drops to the Championship.

100% would have him. He won’t be there much longer. I’m surprised West Ham haven’t made a bid.

Saint-Maximin is a very tricky winger.
He has great pace and very good ball control but has lacked goals and assists in his time at Newcastle.
Since joining the Magpies from Nice in August 2019, Saint-Maximin has scored five goals and supplied eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions and the bulk of them came in a purple patch in the second half of last season either side of the COVID-enforced break.
Honestly, we think we could do better and already have better options at Elland Road.
