Leeds United were linked with Luke Freeman on Sunday. He’s a player we wanted Leeds to go for in the summer but he ended up at Sheffield United.
He hasn’t really established himself there and has only 200-odd mins in the league, so perhaps they’d let him go. We would love it if so…
He’d be a big improvement on [Jack] Clarke and we would expect him to get regular games on the left or in attacking midfield.
He would be an excellent sub but would keep starters on their toes and could easily break into the starting lineup, which he’d obviously be keen to do coming from a Premier League side.
Looking at his data from the 18/19 season, his crossing was exemplary, which is something we’ve struggled with this season, so that attribute would be welcomed.
He’s well above average as a dribbler and had an xA rating of almost the 70th percentile, so his creativity would be a big plus.
For us there is no question about this transfer. If we could get him, he’d absolutely improve us. The stumbling block would be whether or not Sheffield United would let him leave. It probably hinges on them getting somebody else in first.
