Leeds Super Fans react to links with Ross Barkley this week

This is part of a regular series from our panel of Leeds United Super Fans. Each week, Super Fans from our Leeds Insider Facebook page will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Elland Road…

Leeds United have already started being linked with transfers for the upcoming January transfer window.

Marcelo Bielsa usually doesn’t act in the winter window, but fresh relegation fears appear to have sparked him into action.

Fichajes have reported that the Whites are in pole position to land Ross Barkley from Chelsea on what would be an initial loan move.

Not only that, the Spanish outlet has suggested that this is El Loco’s final year at Elland Road as he looks to move on.

In what could be a final hurrah, Barkley and others could arrive in West Yorkshire to boost our survival hopes.

Currently sitting 17th in the Premier League table, wins in the upcoming games with Brighton, Crystal Palace and Brentford would be welcomed before a nightmare December schedule.

Is Barkley the answer though? There would be big concerns over his fitness, work effort and ability to play in the style of Bielsa.

It would undeniably add quality in possession though, and that is something that Leeds lack in abundance past possibly 12 or 13 players in their squad.

We asked our MOT Super Fans if they would be excited to welcome Barkley to Elland Road, and the response was overwhelming.

The majority hit back at the links, also insisting that Bielsa would be going nowhere until the job is done in the Premier League.

Here’s what they said below…

It does seem strange that signings are all of a sudden being mooted despite Bielsa’s reluctance to act in the January window, but relegation creeping up behind him must be playing on his mind.

Will this happen? Time will tell.
