Leeds United and their reported interest in Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O'Brien has become the transfer saga of the summer.

The Telegraph initially reported this month that the Whites were closing in on a £7million deal plus add-ons.

Nothing has come of that, with the move looking more and more unlikely as the month creeps closer to the deadline.

Football Insider have emphatically brought an end to this saga over the weekend ahead of the Burnley clash.

They have reported on their website that the Whites have pulled the plug on a major deal for the Terriers midfielder.

It is suggested that with Adam Forshaw finally returning from injury to start his first game in nearly two years this week has changed the mind of Marcelo Bielsa and his transfer team.
