Exclusive: Paul Robinson – PL clubs will be queuing up to sign 'outstanding' Leeds revelation

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…

Paul Robinson has claimed that Premier League clubs will be queueing up to sign Leeds United loan star Ben White next year after impressing at Elland Road this season.

White, 22, has been one of the best players in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad with Leeds conceding fewer goals than any other side in the Championship with just 10 leaked in 21 matches.

White has played every minute of every league match since his summer switch to Yorkshire and has played a major role in keeping some of the second tier’s best attackers at bay.

Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said, “Ben White has been brilliant this year, he’s been an outstanding signing.

“He looks like a Rolls Royce of a centre-half, he’s comfortable with his feet, he’s comfortable in the air, he’s a good all-round centre-half.

“He’s going to be a top player and he will play in the Premier League next year whether it’s at Leeds or anywhere else. The problem that Leeds have got is keeping hold of him next season.

“He’s come in, played every game alongside Cooper, sometimes Berardi, but for someone so young, he’s strong, he reads the play well and he never looks flustered, he never looks like he’s in trouble. Ben White has been outstanding for Leeds so far.

“He’s taken to the Championship like a duck to water. I’m surprised at the level of his performance and the consistency he’s performed at as well.”

Whether or not Leeds can sign White past the end of the season should be irrelevant to Bielsa, Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta at the moment.

What does matter is whether or not the Whites can stick it out and finally win promotion back to the Premier League.

If that happens then surely the chances of signing White on a permanent basis from Brighton will increase significantly.

He is a Premier League player – and hopefully he can prove that at Elland Road.

In other Leeds United news, if Gaetano Berardi is right then fans should be very excited about this young Leeds ace.
