Leeds United are planning an "ambitious" move for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard if they get promoted, according to the Mirror.

Edouard has scored 27 goals across all competitions this season and his performances for the Hoops has put him "high up the list" of targets for Marcelo Bielsa.

Celtic reportedly don't want to lose the 22-year-old, who has scored at a rate of just under a goal-a-game since signing for the Scottish champions.

They're going for a historic 10-in-a-row next season but a move to the Premier League would be tempting for any player in the SPL.

In a recent Sky Sports article, it was said that Celtic rate Edouard at an eye-watering £40m.

Edouard? Yes please

Now this is more like it.

We've seen a lot of Edouard playing for Celtic and he's exactly the sort of striker Bielsa would like.

He's been absolutely prolific for Celtic, admittedly in a league that's a lower level than the Championship.

However, he's also been banging in the goals for the France Under-21s and for Celtic in Europe against quality opposition.

Edouard came up as a topic in a recent fan Q&A on The Athletic and Phil Hay described him as "one of the stand-out players at Celtic."

Hay also said, "There'll be interest in him" and from the Mirror report that seems likely to come from Leicester too.

Brendan Rodgers managed Eduoard at Celtic and that's another ringing endorsement for a player who is the right age and has all the right attributes to fit in brilliantly in a Bielsa side.

Leeds are in desperate need of a striker with Jean-Kevin Augustin looking like he's got no future at the club.

That deal has hit the rocks with Augustin going back to RB Leipzig and Leeds reportedly looking to get out of the deal.
