‘Wow’, ‘Goosebumps’ – Many Leeds fans love what Illan Meslier did after late winner v Swansea
Admit it Leeds United fans, how many times have you watched Pablo Hernandez’s goal since yesterday?
The Spanish magician popped up with a late winner against Swansea City that helped us to take a massive step towards the Premier League.
The Liberty Stadium may not have been full of supporters when the 35-year-old put the ball in the back of the net, but the reaction from Leeds’ travelling contingent could have fooled you into thinking that the ground was absolutely rocking.
As soon as Hernandez’s cute shot squirmed in off the upright, the Whites’ bench went up in limbs, and players, substitutes, and coaches alike sprinted to the playmaker in celebration.
And that even included loanee goalkeeper Illan Meslier.
The Frenchman ran the length of the field to join the pile on, and the club shared the footage of his dash to their official Twitter account on Monday.
We have to say, we absolutely adore this.
Meslier has been superb since he stepped in to replace the banned Kiko Casilla recently, and his reaction here would seemingly suggest that he is completely enamoured with the club.
His passion and desire to win are exactly what Leeds are all about, and when you combine that with five clean sheets in eight league appearances this season, he’s always going to be hit with the fans.
The Mirror report that the Whites will look make his loan deal from FC Lorient permanent if and when they secure promotion, and this video is just another example of why we think it’s an absolute no-brainer.
