Victor Orta vindicated by Leeds United defender Cody Drameh loan after award nomination

Leeds United decision to loan out Cody Drameh to Cardiff City in January appears to be paying off.

Victor Orta, the director of football, is typically responsible for finding ideal clubs for fringe players to send out on loan.

Despite the number of injuries in the side, Drameh was chosen to be loaned out and that has been proven to be the right decision as he’s been nominated for their Player of the Season.

Since moving to Wales, the 20-year-old has been an omnipresent member of the Cardiff first team.

He’s played as a wing-back for them and has added a bit of guile to their right flank.

He has featured in 16 league games and has already impressed the club to such an extent that he has been nominated for an award that considers performances right from the start of the season.

Orta seldom gets the credit for things he does right, but he deserves to be lauded for this one.

One of the main roles of a director of football is to ensure that the players at the club are performing and growing to their full potential.

Drameh’s half year in the Championship may have proved that he’s ready for the Premier League next term.

It remains to be seen how Jesse Marsch has gauged his loan spell and whether or not he deems him fit enough to play in the first team in 2022/23.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are leading the race to complete a major signing and have already opened talks to seal a £25m deal.
