Victor Orta set to seal one of his best Leeds United signings in shock twist
Leeds United are still working hard to right some past wrongs as they bid to get out of the Championship again this season.
Some new faces were brought in during the summer transfer window in order to bolster the West Yorkshire outfit’s chances of regaining their Premier League status after narrowly missing out last season.
While their new arrivals have more than done their part for Leeds this term, it still feels like they could do with some more firepower up front, particularly in the number nine role.
Which is why it isn’t all that much of a surprise to see Kelechi Iheanacho and Emmanuel Latte Lath linked with an Elland Road switch [SCORENigeria, 23 January].
Both would be more than ideal additions to the squad but the fact Victor Orta is the current sporting director for Sevilla means that he could help his former team out in the market by sanctioning his move to Daniel Farke’s squad.
Why does Victor Orta come into play with the Iheanacho and Leeds United deal?
It’s no secret that Orta’s time with the Whites delivered a very mixed bag of results.
For example, some of the signings he made such as Raphinha were stellar acquisitions but others fell significantly short of the mark.
Now that the Spaniard is at Sevilla, however, he could help out his former club by sanctioning the former Manchester City man’s move to West Yorkshire and help Leeds try and earn promotion from the second tier.

Of course, it’s a big ask as would be any sort of transfer but if Orta wants to try and make amends with the fans and even the club, loaning them Iheanacho could contribute towards that goal.
Only time will tell if a move is sanctioned but, if it is, Leeds could become close to unstoppable and would no doubt be well on their way to promotion.
