Predicted Leeds United starting XI in Carabao Cup clash v Arsenal

Leeds United travel to Arsenal on Tuesday evening looking to reach the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup clash.

Marcelo Bielsa has numerous injury problems to deal with but is known for rotating his squad heavily in the competition.

With a very important clash against Norwich coming up in the Premier League next week, there could be some big changes.

Illan Meslier will stay in-between sticks at the Emirates and looks to be untouchable with Kristoffer Klaesson waiting in the wings.

The back four shouldn’t change either, with not many options available apart from delving into the academy.

That means Diego Llorente and Liam Cooper will continue as they look to build a solid, consistent relationship at the back – something we haven’t had in years.

Stuart Dallas and Jamie Shackleton will also continue at full-back, with Junior Firpo and Luke Ayling expected to return next weekend.

The first change will be Kalvin Phillips returning, as he looks to build on his fitness moving forward and push his side forward.

Adam Forshaw will also come into the side, with Mateusz Klich shocking against Wolves and in desperate need of a rest in the side.

This is where it gets interesting with Raphinha all but certainly out and Jack Harrison struggling to reach any form after a niggling rib injury.

Dan James is almost guaranteed to start, and it could be another chance for Crysencio Summerville to come in and show what he’s got on the big stage.

Finishing off the lineup will be Joe Gelhardt – how could he not start after that cameo against Wolves? It will also hand a well-deserved rest for Rodrigo after his non-stop running for nearly 100 minutes in the draw.

Here’s how we expect the Whites to lineup…
