Patrick Bamford in shock talks to join Leeds’ bitter local rivals
Patrick Bamford could be set for a shock move, just months after his Leeds United exit.
Bamford departed Leeds United in the summer, after both parties agreed to terminate the contract and allow the Englishman to look for his next club.
Since then, a move to Getafe has fallen through for Bamford, who has also been pictured with Frank Lampard’s Coventry City.
However, Lampard made it clear that there was never going to be an official move made to sign the striker, who now looks as though he is edging closer to his next move.

Sheffield United in talks with Patrick Bamford
Last season, Leeds and Sheffield United were neck and neck for the most part, with aspirations of making it back into the Premier League.
Of course, the Whites succeeded in their attempts, while the Blades suffered a play-off final defeat to Sunderland, which truly marked their downfall.
Chris Wilder’s side sit in the relegation zone, and according to Mike McGrath via X on 12 November, they are in talks with Bamford.
Scoring goals has been a big concern for the Blades this season, with just 11 from their 15 fixtures, which is only four less than Bamford has scored since 2022.
Leeds fans still have a small place in their heart for Bamford, and to see him potentially on the move to a rival will anger them, though there is also a sense of irony about the move.

Chris Wilder and Patrick Bamford were involved in controversy
When Leeds were promoted at Sheffield United’s expense, Bamford led an explicit chant aimed at Wilder.
Footage surfaced online, and it was evidently noticed by Wilder, who was later forced to respond to the words said by his potential new striker.
The Sheffield United manager claimed to take no offence to the chant, and explained the relationship he has with the Englishman.
“I’m a big boy, you give it, you take it,” Wilder said on the incident back in April.
“You give it out locally, you take it locally, as I’ve always done. We have our moments, other teams have their moments.
“I had a conversation with Pat yesterday, and I’ve no issue at all with it. I’m not sure about the words from a fellow pro, but I appreciate and respect him giving me a call, and we had 20 minutes. I spoke to Daniel [Farke] as well and had a half-hour chat with him. He’s a top guy.”
Now, the duo could be set to put their minor allegiances aside and join forces to try and steer the Blades away from the relegation zone.
