MOT View: Leeds nearing full-strength as squad revealed for clash v Huddersfield
Leeds United are nearing a full-strength squad for their clash with Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon.
Jean-Kevin Augustin, Kiko Casilla and Adam Forshaw are confirmed absentees for the West Yorkshire derby at Elland Road.
Marcelo Bielsa has had to rely on a number of under-23 players this season, with the likes of Olly Casey and Pascal Struijk consistently featuring in matchday squads.
Leeds Live has released the squad available to Bielsa on Saturday, and only Elia Caprile and Jordan Stevens feature in the list from Carlos Corberan’s side.
That means the likes of Casey and Struijk aren’t expected to be involved in the near future. Defensively, Leeds now have the likes of Ezgjan Alioski and Barry Douglas available after numerous injuries.
The experience of those two players on the bench will be key with 10 games left to play in the Championship, and having Augustin hopefully available soon will strengthen the Whites even further.
With Forshaw and Casilla most likely out for the season, they can be excluded from the squad list for now.
That means that Augustin is the only high-profile player missing for the Whites at this moment, meaning that Bielsa is nearing a full-strength side available to him.
Leeds have often had limited options available to them off the bench during Bielsa’s reign at the club, and Tyler Roberts made sure that wasn’t the case against Hull.
Having the likes of Roberts, Alioski, Douglas, and Gaetano Berardi all available to bring on makes Leeds a much better side, and they are certainly nearing a full-strength side at the right time of the season.
