Meslier exit nailed on as goodbyes said ahead of Leeds United transfer
Illan Meslier endured a tough time at Leeds United last season.
Despite being part of the team that won the Championship title, the goalkeeper no longer looks like a guaranteed starter.
This is due to Meslier’s inconsistent form at Leeds, which cost the Yorkshire club multiple points in the promotion race.
As a result, Leeds have been hunting for a new goalkeeper this summer to finally end their woes between the sticks.

Meslier will now surely leave amid Lucas Perri to Leeds United latest
Lucas Perri now looks set to become Leeds United’s seventh signing of the summer.
This will no doubt be a relief to many of the Elland Road faithful after the Yorkshire club’s goalkeeping issues last year.
There is a hope that Perri can be sealed as a Leeds United player by Sunday and take part in multiple pre-season matches before the start of the campaign.
The Brazilian has developed quite a reputation in Ligue 1, with former Rangers manager Michael Beale once labelling the goalkeeper as “outstanding”.
As a result, journalist Fabrice Hawkins reported via X (24 July) that Perri has now said goodbye to Lyon and his teammates ahead of the move to Leeds.
With the transfer all but certain to go through, surely Meslier will now be sold.
It makes no sense to sit on an asset when it is clear the goalkeeper will no longer play.
On top of this, it is unlikely that Meslier will want to hang about at Leeds and may look to move on himself to help revive his career.
Perri should provide Farke with more reliability
Unlike his soon-to-be counterpart, Perri is a proven goalkeeper in Europe’s top-five leagues and has consistently shone.
In Ligue 1 last term, the Brazilian kept 10 clean sheets and was part of the Lyon team that reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

With the new Premier League season approaching, Perri will be expected to win the Peacocks multiple points in the campaign.
Given his past, there is no reason as to why the 27-year-old can’t do this, and become the keeper Daniel Farke has been longing for.
