Match of the Day pundits somehow ignore Luke Ayling screamer v Man United
There were very few positives for Leeds United to take from their opening day 5-1 defeat at Manchester United.
Luke Ayling’s absolute rocket at Old Trafford was likely the only one, as he fired into the top corner from distance.
That brought the scores level at the time, but it went on to count for little as the second half dragged on.

Well, we thought it was one to remember.
Tuning in to Match of the Day coverage reluctantly, we all thought that Ayling’s goal would be the only silver lining of yesterday.
Instead, when reacting to the footage after, Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Ian Wright somehow ignored the goal.
We were forced to listen to many minutes of praise for Bruno Fernandes, and in no way was the coverage balanced for both fan bases.
Screamer.
In terms of goal of the season contenders, Ayling’s was the only one at Old Trafford – even Lineker himself shared that verdict on Twitter.
Fernandes may have put away some decent team moves, but they are quickly forgotten about weeks into the season.
We couldn’t believe our eyes when the Match of the Day coverage simply rolled onto the Watford win over Aston Villa.
No replays, no praise, no coverage.
Instead, they decided to show how the thicker lines for offside on VAR benefits the attacker now – thrilling viewing for those watching on, we’re being sarcastic of course.
Ayling doesn’t score many like that, and we can’t believe they didn’t even dish out one compliment to the right-back, maybe next year when he scores his annual screamer.
