Many West Brom fans thrilled with ‘Brilliant’ announcement about Leeds senior man

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has been named as the Championship manager of the month for November, provoking a reaction from West Brom fans on Twitter.

Leeds announced via their official Twitter account on Friday morning that, after winning five out of five matches, Bielsa has beaten the likes of Slaven Bilic to the award after the Baggies boss was also nominated.

However, Albion fans on social media seem pleased that their manager did not win the award due to a percieved curse that surrounds it.

Steve Cooper, Sabri Lamouchi and Danny Cowley have all won the manager of the month award this season and each of them have suffered defeat in the first game since receiving it.

West Brom fans clearly know this and are happy to see that Bilic won’t find himself under pressure to avoid defeat this weekend when they take on local rivals Birmingham City.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

At the end of the day, who wins the award does not matter that much and both sets of supporters just want to see their side go up to the Premier League.

Bilic will more than likely get one at some point this season if his side keeps on doing as well as they’re doing while Bielsa could always win a second one.

Either way, Leeds and West Brom have such a healthy gap between them and third that a minor blip might not cause that many issues in their promotion bids.

In other Leeds United news, Cardiff could be without a key player this weekend.
