Leeds United should be favourites in Martin Terrier race as new team enters race
The 2022-23 Premier League season is not very far away and yet Leeds United still have one or two holes in their squad that need addressing.
One position Jesse Marsch would love to see a new face in is striker with Patrick Bamford’s injury concerns and the youth of Joe Gelhardt not quite satisfying the American.
Victor Orta is trying his hardest to make a deal work and they could now be seen as the favourites in one particular race despite the presence of another Premier League side.

According to The Express journalist Ryan Taylor, the Whites have been joined in the race for Stade Rennes attacker Martin Terrier by Frank Lampard’s Everton.
West Ham United were also in the hunt to sign the 25-year-old but they may not pursue a deal now that they have spent £35million on Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca.
The Frenchman has just enjoyed his best ever season in his native league, scoring 21 goals for the Red and Blacks as they soared to fourth in Ligue 1 with Terrier himself being nominated for the player of the year award.
He was only beaten in the goal-scoring charts by Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe and Monaco’s Wissam Ben Yedder but he could now be tempted with a Premier League move.

If we assume that the Irons are not going to join in on the fun now that Scamcca has been signed, it would be a straight battle between Leeds United and Everton which should be an easy win for the Whites.
The Merseyside club are strapped for cash after years of overspending which is likely to hamstring them from paying big money this summer and with Leeds pocketing roughly £100million from two sales, there should be plenty of cash in the bank for Orta to go and splash the £34million Rennes value him at.
In other Leeds United news, this deal may be easier to complete as Charles De Ketelaere’s ongoing debacle takes another elongated twist.
