Leeds United left on hook as Club Brugge set AC Milan 31 July deadline to agree Charles De Ketelaere deal
Leeds United have not given up on signing Club Brugge attacker Charles De Ketelaere just yet but Victor Orta will want a decision soon.
The 21-year-old has made it no secret that he is enticed by a move to Italian champions AC Milan but they are still not matching the offer the Whites submitted for his services, as reported by 90min.
It looked like the Rossoneri had been squeezed out of the race but now they have a new lifeline with the Belgian champions allowing them extra time to come up with the money they desire.
According to Belgian news outlet HLN, Brugge have now set a deadline of 31 July for the Italian champions to make that offer to them and failure to do so could see the deal crumble entirely.
That is what Orta and Leeds United are currently waiting for so they can not only offer the money Brugge want from the get-go but also have no competition for De Ketelaere’s signature.
Elland Road might not be the Belgian international’s first choice given the Champions League football on offer in the fashion capital of the world but he would still prefer the Premier League to another year in his native league.

Jesse Marsch already has enough players to field a competitive side for the first game of the Premier League season at home to Wolves on 6 August but he would dearly like to sign a top attacker before that day comes around.
De Ketelaere has long been the name at the top of his list in that department and with a decision coming in a matter of days, he could finally get a clear view of what his transfer options are.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have managed to find themselves in a transfer triangle that could be very beneficial no matter how it plays out.
