Leeds United need to offer Patrick Bamford return route amid new developments abroad
Patrick Bamford’s move to La Liga could be in jeopardy as he seeks his next club after Leeds United.
Bamford left Leeds in August after discussions with the club, and his contract was mutually terminated.
The striker spent eight seasons at Elland Road and was key in getting the Whites to the Premier League in 2020.
Leeds were no longer able to rely on the striker, either his goalscoring or his availability through injury.
Bamford looked set to be joining Getafe, but the Englishman’s move to Spain now looks to be off.

‘Nothing’ in Patrick Bamford move to Getafe.
Bamford looked set to sign for La Liga side Getafe, even ready to fly to Spain to seal the move, but now there is doubt whether the move will happen.
According to Marca, Getafe are considering other options other than the former Leeds man, as they look to bring in another striker.
Getafe sporting director Toni Munoz said: “We’re considering bringing in another striker. Bamford isn’t here; there’s nothing at the moment. We’re looking at more forwards.”
These quotes aren’t encouraging from Bamford’s perspective, who remains without a club following his departure from West Yorkshire.
Leeds could now do the right thing for Bamford and offer him a return while he waits for a move to materialise.

Leeds should allow Patrick Bamford to train at Thorp Arch
Leeds have better attacking options than Bamford now, so him rejoining on a new deal at the club seems highly unlikely.
The West Yorkshire club, however, could do worse than allow the Englishman to train with the team as he looks to maintain his fitness ahead of a potential move.
- Bamford signed for Leeds for £7million in July 2018
- He scored 60 goals in just over 200 appearances at Elland Road
- Bamford scored 17 goals in the 20/21 Premier League season, including a hat-trick at Aston Villa.
Bamford gave Leeds fans plenty of memories over the years, and the club could bank some goodwill by offering this opportunity to the striker.
Leeds fans won’t see the 32-year-old at Elland Road again, but it would be nice to see him still involved with the club in some capacity while he waits to continue his career elsewhere.
