Leeds United must keep hold of in-demand Jack Harrison as Newcastle speculation emerges
Leeds United winger Jack Harrison has been the subject of transfer interest with Newcastle reportedly interested, however, they should do all they can to keep him
The Daily Mail’s Simon Jones reported on 9 July that the Magpies were mulling over a move for the former Man City winger, as they look for an alternative to Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diakbhy.
The report stated that the club has identified Harrison as a cheaper and more attainable option, who would bring Premier League experience. [Daily Mail]

Jones said: “Newcastle United are weighing up a bid for Leeds United winger Jack Harrison.
“The 25-year old is admired by Newcastle boss Eddie Howe for his attitude and work ethic and would fit more comfortably into their financial plans than a £60m plus bid for Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby.
“Leeds have been braced for offers after enquiries from Tottenham in January and were considering whether to sell earlier this window.
So why should Leeds not entertain any offers for Harrison?
- Durability
Since Harrison moved to Elland Road a very underrated quality of the English winger has been his durability and his helpful knack of staying fit.
He has only missed five possible Premier League games since the club were promoted in 2020, and he has featured in 91% of league games since moving to the club in 2018.
He has only missed an impressive two league games through injury in four years, and this is a quality you cannot understate.
Having a player with that sort of reliability is a huge bonus for every club, and Harrison is definitely a player that has proved that Leeds can depend on.
2. Goals and Assists
Harrison has also proved he is effective in front of goal, and makes an impact on the scoresheet very regularly.
He has in four years, he has scored 26 league goals and provided 20 assists, a record of a goal or assist every 2.8 league games.
Harrison is a player that season after season, puts up solid numbers and makes a difference in matches, often decisive ones as shown by his last-minute goal against Brentford on the final day of last season.

3. His Age
With all the appearances he has made and his years at the top, you forget that Harrison is only 25-years-old and is still yet to hit his season prime years.
He has played in multiple leagues and multiple countries, with a stint in the MLS when he was still a teenager.
He has already shown the player he can be given the license to grow and improve and if Leeds gives him the right platform, he can still get better.
Selling him now for a sum anything less than he is worth would be a mistake from the club and they should continue to have faith in a player that is yet to let them down.
In other Leeds United news, Harrison has travelled with the Leeds team to their pre-season tour in Australlia.
