Leeds United have a special talent in Joe Gelhardt

Joe Gelhardt is a player who looks to have a huge future with Leeds United as he continues to prove that he is too good for youth football.

The 19-year-old joined the Whites in 2020, and he made 17 appearances for the Under-23s in which he scored 11 goals and provided three assists.

This season, he has picked up exactly where he left off and has looked in incredible form.

On Sunday, the Whites played Liverpool’s Under-23s, and Gelhardt scored an absolutely fantastic goal that would have been worthy of winning any game of football [LUFC Youth Academy].

The former Wigan Athletic man received the ball in the centre circle just inside the Reds’ half and went for goal.

His strike was clean and caught the Liverpool goalkeeper out, who couldn’t stop the ball from nestling in the net despite managing to get a hand to the ball.

This was a marvellous goal and was the perfect example of the forward’s technique and confidence.

The forward has yet to make his first-team debut for the Whites, but surely that is only a matter of time; he just looks too good to be playing youth football for much longer.

Marcelo Bielsa has praised the 19-year-old in the past, and if he keeps scoring goals at this rate, then it won’t be long until he is in the first team playing regularly [Leeds Live].

This was a moment of genius from a player who looks to have the world at his feet if he keeps playing the way he is.

In other Leeds United news, Dean Windass has made his prediction on the Whites for the rest of the season.
