Leeds United attackers to have field day as Sean Dyche set for Nottingham Forest change

Elland Road is ready to host a Premier League relegation six-pointer on Friday night.

Leeds take on Nottingham Forest at Elland Road in an 8pm kick-off on Friday evening, with the two sides sitting level on points in 17th and 16th respectively.

Daniel Farke is expected to make a couple of changes for Forest, as Leeds are contending with a number of injuries to some important players at present.

Leeds are the slight favourites to beat Forest, though, and their chances are only set to be boosted further given that Sean Dyche is dealing with an unwanted conundrum in between the sticks.

Leeds’ predicted XI vs Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest set to call upon Angus Gunn in goal vs Leeds

Forest’s starting goalkeeper Matz Sels was forced off at half-time in their most recent Premier League outing against Crystal Palace on 1 February, having picked up a groin problem.

As such, the 33-year-old goalkeeper is not expected to play against Leeds on Friday, with Dyche now set to turn to the shot-stopper who replaced him against Palace, Angus Gunn.

Forest did sign Stefan Ortega from Manchester City last week, but it sounds as though Dyche is going to go with Gunn instead.

The 30-year-old signed for Forest in this season’s summer transfer window on a free, following his departure from Norwich City.

And, despite keeping a clean sheet in the second half, he was far from convincing, with Sofascore‘s numbers showing he completed just six of his 19 pass attempts accurately, giving away possession 13 times.

Therefore, should he indeed be drafted into Forest’s starting XI on Friday night, then Leeds’ forwards should be licking their lips at the prospect of goals.

Leeds will be facing fired up Gunn

Leeds can’t afford to give Gunn a straightforward night’s work, with Farke sure to be sending the message of ‘get your shots off’ to his players and make him work.

Gunn will not only see Selz’s injury as a chance to prove himself worthy of retaining the starting role for Nottingham Forest, but he will also be well aware of the transfer history involving him and Leeds.

Indeed, Leeds showed an interest in signing Gunn in the summer before Forest snapped him up on a free, and Elland Road chiefs have reportedly been admirers of the Scotland international for some time.

Leeds’ interest in Gunn goes back years, and so with both parties well aware of one another, we’re set up for a fascinating sub-plot on Friday.
