Angus Gunn to undergo Norwich medical today as Leeds United lose transfer race
Leeds United have lost out in the race to sign goalkeeper Angus Gunn from Southampton with him heading to Norwich, according to HampshireLive.
The south coast website reports that Gunn, 25, is set to undergo a medical with the East Anglia club today (Monday) after the Canaries saw off interest from Leeds, Wolves and Brentford to re-sign their former shot-stopper.
It is understood that Norwich will pay an initial fee worth £2.5million for Gunn with the deal rising to £5.5million over time while a series of clauses may see the sum increase to £10million.
Good deal for Norwich
Norwich are re-signing someone who’s proven his ability with them before, is English, has his best years ahead of him and can play a role for them in the Premier League next season.
While the deal could rise to £10million, that £2.5million initial fee makes it look as though it’s a bit of a bargain for the newly-promoted club.

As for Leeds, we don’t need a new goalkeeper yet.
Illan Meslier will surely be the number one next season unless someone comes in and snares him away from Elland Road but as of yet, we’re yet to see any suggestion that will happen.
Kiko Casilla follows Meslier in the pecking order and we’ve been saying for a long time that we would love to see Casilla leave the club.
The Spaniard is someone who has been banned for racism and given us countless woeful performances over the time he’s been at Elland Road.
We cannot wait to see the back of him, in all honesty.
Gunn would have been a good replacement for Casilla but we understand why he would want to join Norwich, where he has a good chance of being the starting goalkeeper, a good chance to develop and the chance to play for his hometown club again.
Gunn’s career has been pretty much on hold since he played in Southampton’s 9-0 defeat to Leicester City a couple of years back.
Let’s see if he can kick some life back into it at Carrow Road because he is a good goalkeeper.
