Leeds United ace Rasmus Kristensen embarrassed by Kylian Mbappe as footage emerges on Twitter

When France lined up to face Denmark on Saturday evening (26 November), all eyes at Leeds United were on defender Rasmus Kristensen.

The right-back had the horror task of trying to contain Kylian Mbappe for 90 minutes, with the 24 year old attacker arguably the best player in the world right now and flying for his nation.

It didn’t quite go to plan for Kristensen, as Denmark fell to a 2-1 defeat against the world champions and Mbappe got on the scoresheet twice, but that wasn’t the big issue for the Leeds defender on the day.

Embarrassing footage has emerged from a fan in the crowd of Kristensen being bamboozled by the future legendary forward, as a double movement left him flat on his back.

Mbappe faked a run in behind and forced Kristensen to go one way, before immediately standing still and watching Kristensen slip to the ground.

While there are levels to this game and Mbappe isn’t the calibre of player that anyone will be facing each and every week, it was a sign that if we get to the level that everyone aspires to, then he could struggle on a regular basis.

The Premier League is full of incredible wingers with great pace and movement, and not just at the top end of the table.

The likes of Adama Traore, Demarai Gray, Jarrod Bowen, Leon Bailey and Wilfried Zaha are currently plying their trade in the bottom half of the Premier League and would have been licking their lips at the prospect of coming up against Kristensen.

He will have to learn from it and fast, because with Leeds in a relegation battle again this season currently sitting just two points above the drop zone, the defending has to be better.

Kristensen has had a good season so far, and we won’t be remembering him solely for this moment, but he has to ensure it’s just a one off and not something that can regularly be exploited.
