49ers may have made Jack Harrison transfer blunder at Leeds United already
The 49ers may have made their first boardroom blunder by choosing to prevent Jack Harrison from leaving Leeds United in January to make a switch to Leicester City.
The Athletic’s Phil Hay shared on 3 March that the 49ers played a pivotal part in scrapping the potential transfer of Harrison to the Foxes on deadline day.
Harrison’s form has dipped dramatically this season and the 49ers may have made a foolish decision by not cashing in on the Englishman whilst they still could.

WhoScored, a football statistics website and platform shared a side-by-side comparison of Harrison’s stats from his 2021/2022 campaign and his current season for Leeds United.
And it’s a mixed bag for Harrison, with the winger scoring far fewer goals this season (1) than what he did during the last campaign for Leeds United (8), although this was with 11 more games played.
Fans may be surprised to see that the Englishman’s WhoScored average match rating is higher this season, with the rest of his key stats lower.
However, let’s face it, Harrison has been way off the mark this season and the 49ers should have probably made the decision to cash in on him in January.

As things stand, Harrison simply isn’t doing enough to repay the 49ers’ faith in keeping him at Elland Road during the January transfer window.
Harrison has seemed to have lost a yard of pace this season, something which was a pivotal trait of the winger over previous seasons for the Whites.
This combined with his lack of goals has become a problem, although, he isn’t the only Whites attacker not pulling his weight in the squad right now.
Patrick Bamford, Georginio Rutter and Brenden Aaronson aren’t fighting for the cause either, nevertheless, you’d expect more from Harrison with his Premier League experience.
The Chelsea game was a low point for Harrison and his shocking crossing during the fixture pretty much summed up everything that’s currently wrong with the winger.
January would have been the natural and perfect moment for Harrison to leave West Yorkshire because right now it feels like the 26-year-old doesn’t want to be involved at Elland Road.
His form has fallen off a cliff and the uncertainty surrounding his future in January definitely hasn’t helped matters, the 49ers may not have done the right thing here.
