Leeds must be ruthless as nasty Brighton can stifle Daniel Farke after new Premier League reveal

Daniel Farke may need to use some unsavoury methods as Leeds United face Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Whites are coming off a massive result, beating West Ham United at Elland Road and opening up a six-point gap with the relegation zone.

Farke is tasked with avoiding Premier League relegation this season, and as things stand, it looks like the German manager is poised to do so.

However, the West Yorkshire outfit have a tough spell coming up pre-Christmas, starting with Brighton, who will certainly look to make a fist of things on 1 November.

Brighton have most Premier League yellow cards, Leeds United with 14

Brighton have accumulated 24 yellow cards in the current Premier League campaign, sitting 19th in the fair play table, as per Transfermarkt.

In contrast, the Whites are fourth in the table with 14 yellow cards, with Arsenal sitting at the top with just nine yellow cards.

Chelsea have arguably been the dirtiest team in the English top flight this season, being shown 17 yellow cards and three red cards in nine matches.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see Brighton use fouls to stop the West Yorkshire outfit from playing the game in East Sussex.

Leeds are winless in their last nine visits to the Amex Stadium, and Farke will definitely be looking to turn that around.

While the Peacocks can’t let emotions get the better of them against Brighton, the players should look to physically impose themselves on the opposition, with the likes of Joe Rodon, Jaka Bijol, Pascal Struijk, Ethan Ampadu, Sean Longstaff and Dominic Calvert-Lewin capable of doing so.

Daniel Farke to take lessons from Manchester United

Brighton have kept just one clean sheet in 21 Premier League matches, conceding four goals in the loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford on 25 October.

Leeds should look to take lessons from the Seagulls’ failures, and the most important point will undoubtedly be to keep Carlos Baleba quiet.

The Red Devils did well to put pressure on the Cameroon international in the middle of the park, subsequently dominating proceedings.

Farke should look to dominate the engine room and has the perfect player to do so in Ao Tanaka, whose relentless pressing could potentially come in handy at the Amex Stadium.
