Karamoko Dembele could make Leeds United move after transfer update from Brest

Leeds United might have been given hope in their chances of signing Karamoko Dembele as a replacement for Crysencio Summerville this summer after Brest’s sporting director said that he will leave the Ligue 1 side.

HITC reported on 19 June that the Whites are one of several clubs who could pounce to sign the 21-year-old winger after Gregory Lorenzi confirmed he’d be leaving Brest this summer.

In an interview with L’Equipe (18 June), Lorenzi stated that Dembele and three other players who have been out on loan this season will depart, which should put Daniel Farke’s side on high alert.

Dembele scored nine goals in 47 appearances for League One side Blackpool last season, and with certain wide players expected to depart Elland Road this summer, could be ready to make the step up to Championship level.

Another summer of change is expected at Elland Road following the Peaocks’ failure to achieve promotion to the Premier League, with several of their wide attackers linked with moves away.

With Wilfried Gnonto and Daniel James also tipped to make moves if big-money offers come in, the Whites’ wide stocks could become very depleted, making a transfer for Dembele a sensible move [Jon Newsome].

Of the sides reportedly interested in the Brest wideman, Farke’s side are the only one still playing in England’s second tier, and if Dembele wants a better guarantee of both regular game-time and development playing in a side expected to challenge for promotion, LS11 may be his best bet.
