How much Leeds could save as Patrick Bamford exit agreement confirmed
Patrick Bamford has officially left Leeds United after seven years at the club.
Daniel Farke made it clear to Bamford that he was not a part of his plans at Elland Road this season.
Leeds have struggled to get Bamford off the books, with no sides interested in taking the 31-year-old attacker for a fee.
However, the situation has now been resolved as Leeds and Bamford have come to an exit agreement as expected, making him a free agent.

Leeds United reach Bamford exit agreement
Bamford was always expected to leave Leeds this summer, as it was clear that he was not at the level required anymore.
He failed to notch a single goal in 17 Championship appearances last season, as injuries took their toll on the former England international.
Leeds announced via their official X account on 28 August that a “mutual agreement” had been reached for the striker to leave the LS11 club.
How much will Leeds save from Patrick Bamford exit?
Bamford was one of the highest earners for the Whites, so it makes sense to get him off the books if he is not going to play.
The veteran earned £70,000-a-week in Yorkshire, according to estimates from Capology, which was the third-highest wage at Elland Road.
Player | Wage |
Jack Harrison | £90,000-a-week |
Noah Okafor | £72,500-a-week |
Dan James | £70,000-a-week |
Patrick Bamford | £70,000-a-week |
That is a total of £3,460,000 per year, and that is what Farke’s side could save because he had only a year left to run.
Supporters will hope that money can be reinvested in the squad in the final few days of the transfer market, as the Whites still need reinforcements for their survival battle.
It is a shame that Bamford’s time in the white shirt has ended the way it has, but it was inevitable, given his injury issues, as Farke cannot rely on him anymore.
It is the best move for all parties involved, especially when the club will save a huge sum because of his departure.
Instead of paying him that extra £3.64m, the Whites will wipe that off the books and have more room to operate in the market.
