Daniel Farke to be heartbroken by Thomas Frank as Solomon call made on Leeds

Leeds United have had their hearts set on securing a permanent deal for Manor Solomon for several months now.

The wideman was a huge influence for Daniel Farke’s side during his loan spell at Elland Road last season from Tottenham, and it also brought out his best form.

Solomon quickly became one of Leeds’ most important players and ended the season having notched 10 goals and 13 assists for the Whites.

The West Yorkshire outfit have been desperate to keep him to help their bid for Premier League survival, but the transfer saga that has rumbled on for several weeks now looks to have reached a definitive conclusion.

Farke will be heartbroken by Solomon news at Tottenham

The discussion surrounding Solomon’s future has ebbed and flowed on numerous occasions since the conclusion of the season.

Leeds had initially been buoyed by the news that the Israeli wasn’t wanted at Tottenham, but as Spurs’ managerial situation has progressed over the last few weeks, it has gradually become apparent that there may still be a place for Solomon at his parent club.

That has now been shared following Thomas Frank’s appointment as Spurs’ new boss.

The Dane reportedly likes what he has seen from Solomon and wants to look at him in training, as Tottenham currently plan to include him in their squad for next season.

Farke will undoubtedly be heartbroken by the news that Solomon will likely not be returning to Elland Road, as the German would surely have had designs on building his team around the former Fulham man.

Leeds must bring in other attacking options

Solomon would have been the perfect addition for Leeds because he already knows the club, his teammates, and what Farke demands from his players.

However, with that deal now off the table, the Whites must turn their attention towards other potential options.

Leeds will know that attacking additions will be absolutely vital if they are to have any chance of avoiding the drop, as they simply do not possess enough firepower at present.

Joel Piroe enjoyed another excellent season in front of goal this term, but it’s difficult to know what to expect from the Dutchman next year, given that he has never played Premier League football before.

Leeds’ current attacking options.

Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford both seem destined to exit, while Largie Ramazani cannot really be relied upon to produce on a consistent basis.

That leaves just Piroe, Dan James and Willy Gnonto, and while that trio are all good players in their own right, Farke and Co. would be woefully ill-equipped to survive in the top flight.

As such, bolstering their attack could make all the difference to Leeds’ fortunes next term.
