Daniel Farke might have instant Sam Byram regret after what he said ahead of Millwall v Leeds United
Daniel Farke would be making a mistake by not starting Leeds United ace Sam Byram in their Championship clash against Millwall on Wednesday.
The defender has been in stellar form over his last couple of outings for the Whites and has more than proven his worth to the West Yorkshire outfit.
While his appearances in Leeds’ recent games against Bristol City and Plymouth Argyle have been due to Jayden Bogle and Junior Firpo being suspended, it feels like the 31-year-old helped further solidify Leeds’ defensive line.
Speaking to the media ahead of their clash against the Lions on 6 November in quotes relayed by BBC Sport (5 November), Farke more or less confirmed that the Englishman wasn’t going to start against Neil Harris’ men despite being impressed by his recent efforts.
“It can be tricky when the turnaround is quicker because of his age and injury history,” he said.
Sam Byram should start for Leeds United against Millwall
While Firpo and Bogle have both been solid for the Whites this term, Byram’s defensive contributions seemed to solidify Leeds’ defensive line even further.
Indeed, the Whites lost some of their attacking prowess from their full-backs while Byram was involved but with the attacking talent they have within their team already, it feels like a worthwhile sacrifice.

Millwall have scored 16 goals in the Championship this term and find themselves eighth in the table and on the cuso of the playoff places.
Hence why Leeds may benefit more if they had stronger defensive players starting rather than going all-out attack.
Of course, Firpo and Bogle are two of the best full-backs in the league but with the form Byram is currently in, it feels like the German would be making a mistake by not starting the former Norwich man against Harris’ men.
