Dan James to be handed Leeds United chance because of Raphinha

New Leeds United signing Dan James could be thrown straight in at the deep end against Liverpool on Sunday.

This is because Raphinha has been banned from playing against the Reds after the Brazilian FA won their argument over Premier League clubs failing to release international players [The Times].

Therefore, the Whites’ star winger will take no part against Liverpool, and this could see James thrown in for a first start.

The 23-year-old might have been expected to start on the bench, but Raphinha’s absence should give us a good look at the Welsh winger.

He has been a player pursued by Marcelo Bielsa for two and a half years, so we don’t doubt that the Argentine will have any reservations about starting him against Liverpool with Raphinha unavailable.

Therefore, this is the perfect chance for James to show what he can do, and we are excited to see him.

Of course, it is a massive shame that Leeds won’t be able to call on Raphinha, but James is an exciting, quick player.

He has been described as “fantastic” by Rio Ferdinand in the past, so we can’t wait to see him [Football 365].

Obviously, it would be great to see him and Raphinha on the wings, and we are sure that we will see that soon, but for now, this could be James’ chance to shine and show Elland Road what all the hype was about.

In other Leeds United news, the club are firmly against new proposals from FIFA.
