Angus Kinnear risks Daniel Farke wrath amid latest Leeds United transfer update
Leeds United have usually been cautious about providing Daniel Farke with reinforcements in transfer windows under Angus Kinnear.
The Whites’ sporting director has rarely made quick moves to sign players when needed and has the habit of leaving things until late in the window.
It seems like the Peacocks’ hierarchy are reluctant to make any investments before they are absolutely necessary.
Josuha Guilavogui was signed as a free agent in October due to the West Yorkshire club’s lack of depth in the engine room.
Kinnear could’ve added even more numbers to the middle of the park in the summer of 2024 but didn’t.
Angus Kinnear should grant Daniel Farke Leeds United transfer wish
Farke wants the Whites to “immediately” sign Borussia Monchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi, according to the print edition of Bild (3 January, pg 12).
The Peacocks evidently need more number in central defence, with Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk playing the majority of the fixtures in the current campaign.
Max Wober is the only other experienced backup centre-back option at the German manager’s disposal at Leeds, but he has had his fitness issues.

James Debayo has made the squad on several occasions this season due to fitness issues in the squad but is still young to be consistently relied upon.
Elvedi is an accomplished defender with 56 international caps to his name for Switzerland.
Kinnear should grant Farke’s wishes to avoid his wrath and boost the Whites’ hopes of promotion to the Premier League.
The Peacocks shouldn’t wait until the final moment, or even beyond as they did with the Guilavogui signing, to bolster their backline.
With the West Yorkshire club at the top of the Championship table, injuries can possibly derail their hopes of maintaining the lead in the league.
In other Leeds news, Struijk could find himself in the Premier League sooner after recent developments.
